Interested in joining one of the many wine of the month clubs you have heard about online? With so many to choose from, you will want to consider a few things to help you make the best possible choice.
A monthly wine club is one of the best ways to explore the many and varied aspects of wine without having to do lots of legwork and research yourself. Perhaps the holiday season is coming up and you are looking to give a gift of a membership to a wine club. This is a very personal gift, and is great for the “person who has everything.” You can often buy a 3 month, 6 month, or 1 year membership as a gift according to your budget, and who knows, perhaps your friends will invite you over to sample the wines they receive!
It’s mind boggling the amount of wine clubs there are to choose from, one for every taste and niche. You can find a wine club that specializes in everything from basic white and red wines to Australian wines, or small boutique Californian vineyards, to European wines from countries you may not have even known existed! So how does one go about choosing which wine club is for them, or which would make a perfect gift?
Well, in this economy the price is usually a major limiting factor. Fortunately the clubs often have tiered memberships, offering different kinds of wines for different budgets. For 2 or three bottles of amazing wine, you can spend as little as $20 a month. Or if your budget permits you can get some truly world class wines for $50-$100 a month, and if your friend has a particularly discerning palette, well there are even more exclusive memberships for that as well.
Once you’ve picked a budget, you need to choose what kind of club you will sign up for. Read up on the reviews we have here of many of the most popular wine clubs, and also look around for one that specializes in exactly the kinds of wine you are interested in. Are you just interested in expanding your horizons in every direction, or do you want to learn more about a particular region of France, Italy, Australia, or other parts of the world? Are you partial to Californian wineries and one off runs of unique boutique wines? Well, you can find all of that with little problem at all. Be aware of any additional shipping costs, cancelation fees, and possible signup fees that the club may enforce. Unfortunately they are not all up front about their fees, so be sure you read the fine print so you don’t end up spending far beyond your budget.
Also, you will want to consider how long you will stay signed up to a club. If possible ask a member how long typically people maintain their memberships. After a while perhaps their selection tends to grow a little stale and you are sampling the same wines. Some clubs also have additional perks like super cheap orders of crates of a particular wine, free gifts, and wine tasting seminars. All of these will add to the value of your membership. Here at WineClubReviewer.com we try to keep you updated on the various clubs and what they offer. Browse around and see if you find something you like!

Italian Wine Club- Celebrations Review
Filed Under Wine Club | Leave a Comment
The Celebrations Wine Club was formed 20 years ago by Anna Maria Knapp. For the past 2 decades she has been providing her clients with the finest Italian wines and Californian wines avaliable on the market. They search the regions for truly gifted wine makers. Searching out the small family-owned wineries that produce boutique wines and hand-crafted vintages that are nothing short of world class.
The Celebrations wine club does not deal in large scale wine operations. While acknowledging that they have their place as an everyday drinking wine due to their inexpensive nature, you will not receive this in a shipment from the Celebrations Wine Club. The wines shipped by Anna are selected for their flavor, aroma, authenticity, and “balance of components that melts into a gloriously integrated whole.”
This wine club comes highly recommended by many wine enthusiasts, as every shipment is carefully selected by the president, tasted and tested to ensure quality, and sent out with love to their members. It’s part of what has helped this wine club stick around for the past 20 years. The Italian Wine Club offered by Celebrations has many options to choose from. Any and every taste has been accounted for.
Celebrations Italian Wine Club Options
Italian Artisan Series- $34/month - One red & one white wine delivered monthly.
Italian Winemaker Reserve Red Wine Club- $62/month - Two Italian reserve red wines delivered monthly.
Italian Collector Series- $112/month - Two super-premium Italian red wines delivered monthly.
Italian Wine Club Combo- $87/month - One super-premium Collector red & one reserve Winemaker red delivered monthly.
All the wine clubs includes their famous newsletter. In the newsletter, you’ll read about the winemakers, the wines, the regions where the grapes are grown, and the foods that the red wines complement. Anna loves to write, and has published books and columns in news papers about the world of wine. You get to enjoy that passion in their newsletter.
Each club also offers a prepaid membership for 3, 6, or 12 months. This makes it perfect if you are looking to give a wine club gift membership. They also have a number of California wine club memberships available. We will look into that soon.

Stone, Vine and Sun French Wine Club
Filed Under Wine Club | Leave a Comment
This is an excellent UK based wine club. A newcomer to the wine of the month club scene, but it has already built up quite a name for itself. The name of the club refers the three most important aspects of wine making- the earth, the vine, and the sun shine. Only with adversity from the ground does the grape reach its full potential on the vine, while becoming nothing more than contained sunshine.
The Stone Vine and Sun wine club has received rave reviews from major wine authorities, as they focus their wine club on regional wines from around the world. We think the club has a big focus on French wines, thus we are calling it a French wine club. But more acuratley it is an internaitonal wine club delivering region specific wines from around the world.
They do not offer a monthly wine delivery service like other wine clubs. Rather they focus on selling wine by the case. Each case contains 12 different wines from a specific region of interest.
Price per Case: Around £87.50 (it varies with the kind of wine, and the offer you buy with)
We recommend this wine club very much if you are looking to get some amazing wines that you can store in your wine cellar. There is no minmum order, and no monthly recurring fees, so you have absolute freedom to explore these amazing region specific wines at your own pace.

Wine.com review
Filed Under Wine Club | Leave a Comment
Today’s wine club review is the wine club offered by Wine.com.
Wine.com is great all around wine club. They offer something for everybody, whether you are new to the world of wine, or have been around the block a few times. They work similar to most wine clubs, sending you two bottles of hand selected premium wine a month. They include a small newsletter with information on the wines and suggestions for pairing and tasting. The wine club membership options at wine.com are among the best value we have seen, and the quality remains quite good.
The wine clubs at wine.com come in three flavors:
Discovery Tour Wine Club- $20/month for 2 hand selected great value and interesting wines selected from around the world are sent to you each month. These wines are a great value and an excellent way to enter the wine club world at a good price. This will be attractive to those who have a love of wine, but haven’t had a chance to truly broaden out in their perspectives. You don’t get any “2 buck chuck” here.
Wine Clubs Of The World- Around $40 a month, this tier sends you two higher quality wines each month. You have the options of mixing and matching reds and whites so you can get just what you want each month. This is a great wine club if you want to further your experience in the field, but don’t have the money to shell out for a premium membership.
90 Point Rated Wine Club- $70+ a month, this is the premium membership option at wine.com. The wines sent are only red wines, designed for aging and enjoying in the years to come. These are very fine wines with tons of personality and potential to become very valuable. If you have your own custom wine cellar, then this club is likely the club for you.
All of the tiers get the same service: hand selected wines from around the world, informational packets on each bottle with tips, ideas, education, and recipes, and personal attention to any of your concerns that need addressing. In addition to fine wines every month, you get some incredible discounts on buying wine in bulk if you find a vintage that you just love. Wine.com is a great option for the wine lover on a budget, at any tier. It’s premium membership is one of the best deals out there!
You can’t go wrong if you are looking into a Wine.com membership.
